Forum: classic_tv Subject: 1949 play "Black Chiffon" has the interesting TV history

It has been adapted for TV in no less than three countries.

"The Motorola Television Hour", a US series, presented a version in 1954. I don't know the archival status of this version.

"Saturday Playhouse", a UK series, presented a version in 1959. This version is believed to be lost.

In 1959, Australian broadcaster ABC presented a live version as part of its semi-regular presentations of plays. This version is still extant, but is not available for viewing.

In addition to these, NBC series "Matinee Theatre" presented a version in 1956, and there appears to have been a version in 1953 as part of US series "Hallmark Hall of Fame", though I can't be certain of this (there is no writing credit on its page on IMDb).

So there has been quite a few TV adaptations of the play.
